Quick Guide To Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda – The Safari Index

Situated in the West of Uganda you will find Queen Elizabeth National Park . It is home to 90 mammal species and 600 bird species and consists of different ecosystems, each unique in their own way.

Some of the animals one can expect to see while on safari include buffalo, Ugandan kob, and giant forest hogs, but Queen Elizabeth National Park is known for 2 animals in particular.

The first is the tree-climbing lions. These big cats can be seen lounging on tree branches on hot summer days and it is speculated that this is one of only 2 places where they can be observed.

The second animal species is primates. Chimp trekking often takes place here alongside Gorilla Trekking in  Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
